In the first week of March 2020, Julius and Belinda travelled to Zimbabwe to meet with their fellow cohort members of the African Conservation Leadership Network (ACLN). The ACLN is a collaboration of Maliasili and The Nature Conservancy who invest in African conservation leaders to grow and work together, thereby achieving greater conservation impact across Africa. In our cohort we are privileged to be with organisations from southern Africa, including Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. We spent five days together learning how to increase the effectiveness of our organizational leadership and getting equipped with tools to improve our team’s ability to deliver on the goals in our strategic plan.
The COVID-19 outbreak was confirmed in Kenya shortly after we got home, and we feel profound gratitude that we had this special time with everyone before the storm hit. We are all going through this crisis and together we can support each other through it.
